Polyoak Packaging is proud to be recognised at the SAPRO Best Recycled Plastic Product’ awards, winning bronze in the rigid plastics category. Our 210ℓ Tight Head Drum with recycled content is manufactured in South Africa, in line with international standards.
The 210ℓ drum, employs specialist multilayer extrusion technology, enabling the inclusion of Post-Consumer Recyclate (PCR) in the middle layer whilst retaining its critical technical functionality, with a similar wall thickness to a virgin drum.
This innovative multilayer extrusion technology enables high volumes of post-consumer plastic to be diverted from landfill, by partnering with waste reclaimers and recyclers. Its inclusion of 20 to 30% PCR also reduces the drum’s carbon footprint and contributes positively towards the circular economy.
The 210ℓ Tight Head multilayer drum has the same weight as the mono-layer version, and it is significantly lighter than steel. The drum is UN certified up to 18% PCR, having passed stringent drop, leak and hydraulic stack testing. This assures that it is suitable for chemicals, pesticides, lubricants, including highly permeable contents and food products. In addition, it is designed for maximum drainage of contents when decanting. This Tight Head Drum range is available with a single or double L-ring.
These drums are manufactured at Polyoak’s Blowpack production facilities in Gauteng and more recently also in Kwa-Zulu Natal. To reduce carbon emissions and eliminate unnecessary transportation, the drums are suitable for multi re-use and are available in a range of colours or with decorations per the customers’ requirements.
