Are your food containers BPA-free?
Yes. All PET, PP and HDPE resins comply with EU and FDA food-contact regulations and contain no BPA or phthalates.
What is the PolyShield barrier tub?
PolyShield is our oxygen-barrier PP tub range with full barrier IML coverage and sealed lidding film. It extends ambient shelf life up to 12 months without preservatives — ideal for vegetables, fruit, pickles, processed meat, soup and convenience foods.
Can I use recycled content in food packaging?
Yes. We offer rPET bottles and jars as standard, with post-consumer recycled content. All recycled-content packs meet food-safety accreditation requirements.
Will a PET shrink sleeve affect recyclability?
It can. PET shrink sleeves applied to PET bottles or jars, are not widely recycled in South Africa. We recommend BOPP wrap-around labels instead, and our Design First™ team can help you transition without losing shelf impact.
Do you supply bulk catering packaging?
Yes. Contan manufactures food-safe PP buckets from 1 L to 20 L+ with secure lids, pour systems and IML or litho-print decoration for the foodservice and catering sector. Blowpack also supplies large volume HDPE drums (5 L to 25 L) for foodservice applications.
